With over 2000 years of association, Tamil and Kannada communities had supported each at at worst and best of times. 2000 years ago, Kannada Kings built massive temples at Mahabalipuram, south of Chennai. 1000 years ago, Tamil Chola Kings built massive temples at Bangalore. 200 years ago, Kannada King sent massive army to Tamil Queen Velu Natchiyar to fight the British.
All the verbs we find in Kannada Language is very much used in Tamil literature from ancient times with very same meanings.
This is an initiative by group of people to foster friendship between the two linguistic groups which are culturally and traditionally equal at all times.
